For over 20 years, Jonathan has had the privilege of helping students and leaders discover their purpose with God. As the Epic Mission Director, he works directly with leaders of Epic Movements, churches, and staff to create spaces where students can grow and thrive. After graduating from the State University of New York at Buffalo, Joanthan helped start the Epic Movement in New York City—an experience that shaped his approach to leadership.
Today, Jonathan serves on the Epic Leadership Team, where he has spent the last nine years focusing on strategic mission growth and leadership development. When not working with campus communities, Jonathan is usually busy making things and learning how things work, whether that means designing a 3D print, soldering a circuit, growing vegetables in a hydroponic setup, or hunting down the best places to eat.

Now he has served on staff with Cru for over 20 years with experience as campus field staff (with Epic and Cru), in campus leadership, and in organizational training in leadership, crossing cultures, and theological development. He lives in Boston with his wife Ginny and their four children who are in 9th, 7th and 5th (twins) grades.
Alan greatly enjoys food culture and has parlayed that into a deep interest in a theology of food - how food carries deep spiritual meaning, points us to God, and connects people to each other. Another one of his interests is the history and culture of Central Asia including how Christianity spread widely there for more than a millennia via the Silk Road. More casually, Alan also enjoys boardgaming, hiking, gardening, LEGOs, reading, and traveling.
